Mini-Quad

Mini Quad's chassis

(Note: this project has been abandoned because of personal reasons, so don't expect this one finished, sorry for the inconvinience. Still though, I'm keeping this uploaded if you want to see any information that could be useful).

Hello everybody! Today I'm going to show you a little preview of my first MOC (not finished yet) , the Mini-Quad. It is powered by 2 PF large motors, nowadays only found on 9398 set, which one of them is geared down 9 times (gear ratio 1:9) for steering, and the other one, it's placed on the rear module for propulsion with a gear ratio of 1:3.

This module is only connected with the front one by one point on each side, so it's able to move up and down freely. Also, this module will have two suspension beams to make easier passing through obstacles, and above, it will be placed the battery box, which is only holded by one axle, so it's also free to move up and down as the suspension is working.

So far, I have tried to build different steering systems in the front module, but they didn't work; so I'll have to use rack and pinion steering system. The main disadvantege is: unless you make a complex steering and well reinforced module, small and simple ones are easy to dissuade, so, I'm working on it!

On the next post I will explain in detail the most used steering systems with their pros and cons. Also I need to get new bricks for this MOC, like the suspension beams and new tyres, and I am really busy right now, so I hope to finish it on Summer.
